In accordance with the established vision, mission, values and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Regional Lead, Elder Services Dementia Community Investment Initiative (DCII) works in partnership across the organization and with academic partners to lead, cultivate, and facilitate the expansion of the DementiAbility program to care givers in rural and northern BC communities. The Regional Lead is an advocate and active role model for scholarly practice, raising the profile and engagement of research, evidence-informed practice/decision-making, and knowledge translation in our geographic area. The Lead services the Elder Services sector in Northern Health (NH) by supporting the Dementia Community Investment (DCI) team, within and across NH, through the provision of mentorship, guidance, support, and expertise in research and research-related activities specific to the DCI Project.D.
Starting salary will be approximately from $90,770 to $113,462 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.
Qualifications
• Master’s Degree with a focus on community health, health education, or clinical practice within a health care discipline or social science field.
• Five (5) to seven (7) years recent, related experience in quality/process improvement and education - preferably in a healthcare setting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Experience utilizing qualitative and quantitative research methodologies;
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to guide, coach, teach, and promote a learning environment.
• Knowledge of research methods, theory, and practice.
• Experience in knowledge translation initiatives.
• Demonstrated knowledge of gerontology or geriatrics, healthcare research priorities and current healthcare issues facing older adults and persons living with dementia.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to engage with diverse groups in particular persons living with cognitive impairment and be able to resolve issues that arise throughout the process.
• Superior small and large group facilitation skills and individual coaching skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to foster collaborative partnerships using a team approach.
• High level of motivation with a positive attitude and high degree of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
• Strong organizational skills and experience in project management; ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to develop presentation graphics and spreadsheets.
• Ability and willingness to travel within Northern Health geographic region.
