REGISTERED NURSE (RN), RESIDENT CARE COORDINATOR, LONG TERM CARE

Position Summary

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position reporting to the Site Coordinator, the Resident Care Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, development, implementation, evaluation, and administration of resident care, clinical practice, and the overall formal supervision of all care staff to ensure a high standard of care is delivered. As a clinical resource, model, and leader for the care team, provides guidance, supervision and intervention in the delivery of resident care and the care planning process in accordance with Northern Health policies and best practices.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00

A first in Canada: minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPRs) are starting in B.C.! Northern Health, alongside B.C.'s other health authorities, is implementing mNPRs as a transformative staffing initiative that aims to improve the working environment of nurses in order to provide better quality care to our patients.

Qualifications

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Three (3) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of experience.

• Ability to plan, set priorities, organize and manage nursing services in the facility.
• Ability to act as a role model in creating a collaborative and harmonious working atmosphere.
• Ability to work and make decisions under pressure.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of the health care team.
• Ability to recognize and intervene in an emergency situation.
• Ability to problem solve interdependently and independently as required.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
