Position Summary
Are you a Speech Language Therapy Assistant looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Speech & Language department.
In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Speech Language Therapy Assist will be responsible for assisting the Speech Language pathologists, working within the guidelines of the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia, and providing support to the Speech and Language Program.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00
Qualifications
• Grade 12.
• Completion of a Speech Language Assistant or Communications Disorders Assistant program
• Valid BC Drivers' License - use of personal vehicle may be required
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Or other Qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to operate related equipment such as MS Office, Outlook and Internet.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and prioritize.
• Ability to be responsive to the needs of the client and to interact well with pre-school children.
• Ability to work independently and in cooperation with the team.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to travel if required.
