LEAD, REGIONAL SERVICES MANAGEMENT & PLANNING

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Lead, Regional Services Management and Planning to support the Medical Affairs department.

Reporting to the Regional Manager Strategy and Planning, Lead - Regional Services Management and Planning are responsible for leading service management and planning initiatives that strengthen service models, improve processes, and align with Northern Health’s strategic direction. This involves close collaboration with clinical services/ programs and operations to ensure coordinated planning, address system impacts, and support organization-wide integration. This role prepares the organization for successful implementation by identifying operational impacts, risks, and dependencies, while monitoring progress and supporting change management, as needed. Contributes to continuous improvement by applying consistent planning frameworks, supporting responses to internal and Ministry requests, and fostering strong relationships across service networks/ programs.

Starting salary will be approximately from $90,770 to $113,462 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or relevant health care discipline and diploma level qualification in project management or equivalent;
• Five (5) to seven (7) years recent related experience in a project management capacity, and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups;
• Proven experience in strategic planning, people management, change management and risk management;
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current valid BC Driver’s License.

Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL, service design, continuous improvement).
• Strong service planning and analysis skills, including options analysis and business case development.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and/or clinical issues to non-technical or non-clinical users with a high degree of comprehension.
• General knowledge of current health care issues and trends.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and guide work in matrixed environments.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and relationship building across clinical and operational teams.
• Competence in risk identification, mitigation, and implementation readiness assessment.
• Strong project and program coordination skills, including tracking progress, risks, and deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-ready briefing materials.
• Ability to apply and steward standardized planning frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make presentations to groups using technology available for distance communications as well as travel to areas of Northern Health when appropriate.
• Proficiency in Office Systems (i.e. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project etc.).
• Ability and willingness to travel within Northern Health’s geographic region.
