ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT, HOME AND COMMUNITY CARE

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Administrative to support the Home Support department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Administrative Support performs a variety of administrative support functions such as word processing, composing, and signing correspondence, typing program reports and documents from notes and/or recording devices, compiling statistics, time keeping for payroll and answering general inquiries relate to programs and policies.

Fort St. John is known as “The Energetic City,” which reflects the large resource base of oil, natural gas, forestry and agriculture. Overlooking the Peace River, the town of Fort St John is located above the Peace River Valley and serves as the capital of the Peace River district. The population of Fort St. John is over 21,400 but it services an area of approximately 70,000. The community is the hub of the Northeast with a cultural centre and library, theatre, and art space. There are seven elementary schools, two middle schools, and one secondary school. There is also a Northern Lights College campus. Qualifications

• Grade 12, a certificate from a recognized office administration certificate program, plus one-year recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Ability to prioritize and organize work.
• Ability to type 50 wpm.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to problem solve.

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of general office procedures and the ability to operate related equipment including computer applications.
• Valid BC Driver’s License
