The Lead, Professional Practice Strategy - Nursing provides leadership, facilitation, and coordination to a variety of strategies that support the development, implementation, and evaluation of professional practice standards, quality practice environments, and nursing professional development and education within Northern Health. Includes overall responsibility for management of specific projects as outlined in the Northern Health Business Plan and the Northern Nursing Strategy, including the management of related human and financial resources. Establishes partnerships and working relationships with organizations external to Northern Health that have an impact on nursing practice. This includes but is not confined to professional organizations (BCCNM), unions, educational institutions, and other health authorities. Provides leadership to the ongoing evolution and development of a long term Northern Nursing Strategy designed to align nursing practice with the vision, mission, and values of Northern Health. Participates in collaborative planning with Regional Directors, Health Services Administrators, and nursing managers across the sectors of acute care, home and community care, public health, and mental health and addictions in relation to strategic directions and policy development that supports nursing practice. Functions as a member of the regional clinical services management team.

Starting salary will be approximately from $106,026 to $132,533 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or a related health field with current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• At least five years experience at an advanced practice or management level.
