MANAGER, RISK AND QUALITY, BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

Position Summary

Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking a Manager, Risk and Quality- Biomedical Engineering to join our Biomedical Engineering department

In accordance with the established vision, mission, values and strategic priorities of the organization, the Manager, Risk and Quality – Biomedical Engineering oversees the medical device risk management, quality measurement, improvement activities, and cybersecurity readiness of the Biomedical Engineering Department. Utilizing technology management principles in collaboration with regional multi-disciplinary teams, this role manages medical equipment risks, improves the quality of biomedical engineering services, and ensures cybersecurity measures are in place. The Manager plans and deploys medical device risk management programs, continuous improvement initiatives, manages the Biomedical Engineering Risk & Quality Specialists, and supervises designated staff.

Starting salary will be approximately from $106,026 to $132,533 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Engineering, Service Management, or another related discipline along with relevant experience (preferred) or a Technical Diploma in Biomedical Engineering along with five (5) years of related experience
• Eligibility for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) or Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC).

Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to manage department staff and communicate with all levels of staff and regional management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, manage, implement, organize, teach, and problem solve.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including the ability to collaborate within a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to identify variances in risk and quality and implement strategies that lead to desired outcomes.
• Applies the problem solving process demonstrating critical thinking, decision-making skills, and systems analysis.
• Proven ability to utilize equipment/computer technology.
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
