MANAGER, SUPPORT SERVICES PRINCE RUPERT

Position Summary

The Manager, Support Services is responsible and accountable for the planning, delivery, coordination and evaluation of Support Services (Dietary, Environmental Services, and Laundry) at Prince Rupert (and cluster sites as permitted). Responsibilities including financial management, strategic and operational planning, physical site safety, legislative compliance, building environmental control, energy efficiency, policy and procedure development and implementation (includes Decision Support Tool oversight), participation in the implementation of capital expenditures, cost control, and overseeing the practices of operational staff.

Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 24-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with Medical Imaging, Laboratory, ICU, ER and Maternity. Services include:

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a certificate program in a related field from a recognized program.
• College or University diploma or degree related to position.
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of recent related experience including at least three (3) years supervisory or management experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
• Technical food production and service knowledge.
• Understanding of the principles needed to provide effective dietary, Environmental Services and laundry services in a multi-site operation.
• A good working knowledge of, and experience in a computerized environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration/consultation with others to build positive internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, mediation and negotiation.
• Effective interpersonal communication and troubleshooting skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to promote stability and make sound decisions in fast paced uncertain environments/situations.
