Position Summary
Are you a Audiology Support Technician looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Community Health department.
Under the supervision of the Lead Audiologist, Northeast Region provides technical and support services to the Northeast Audiology Program within the Fort st John Audiology Clinic. Duties include serving clients, assisting in audiological evaluation of clients, hearing screening, providing instruction to clients/caregivers on hearing aid care and use, supporting program in meeting goals of the British Columbia Early Hearing Program (BCEHP), and participating in the organization of program data, inventory control and financial aspects of the Northern Health Authority Hearing Aid Dispensing Program. Also, under the supervision of the Northeast Lead Audiologist, position functions as program assistant. This includes a variety of administrative support functions such as word processing, data entry, typing reports and documents from notes, creating, updating and filing client charts, and scheduling clinics. Program assistant performs reception duties and answers general enquiries related to audiology program and policy. Overnight travel may be required.

Overlooking the Peace River, the town of Fort St John is located above the Peace River Valley and serves as the capital of the Peace River district. The population of Fort St. John is over 21,400 but it services an area of approximately 70,000. The community is the hub of the Northeast with a cultural centre and library, theatre, and art space. There are seven elementary schools, two middle schools, and one secondary school. There is also a Northern Lights College campus. Qualifications
• Grade 12, completion of a diploma in a health or social services related field.
• One (1) years related experience in health care dealing directly with clients.
• Valid Class V BC Driver’s License.
• Experience working with children.
Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to carry out testing procedures with hard to manage children and disabled adults.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
