Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Dawson Creek & District Hospital.
Under the direction of the Program Manager is responsible for the nursing care of assigned patients and assists the Program Manager in follow-up of patient care and nursing practice issues. In conjunction with the Operating Room staff and OR Resource Leader, plans for staff educational needs.
A first in Canada: minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPRs) are starting in B.C.! Interior Health, alongside B.C.'s other health authorities, is implementing mNPRs as a transformative staffing initiative that aims to improve the working environment of nurses in order to provide better quality care to our patients.
Qualifications
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• One (1) year recent related experience working in the Day Care Surgery/PAR.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to provide safe competent patient care.
• Ability to physically perform the duties of the job, and has the ability to organize the work.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the health care team.
• Ability to communicate and maintain good public relations with family and friends of the patient.
• Able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
• Ability to recognize and intervene appropriately in an emergency situation.
• Able to operate related equipment.
