As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Community Health Care Worker (CHW) 1 provides various housekeeping duties, meal planning and preparation, and the promotion of a safe and healthy working environment.
Must have current registration with the BC Care Aide Registry
Mackenzie & District Hospital and Health Centre is a well-integrated facility creating a cohesive care team. It has 5 Acute Care beds and 4 Long-term care beds and provides the following services:
• Emergency
• Medical Imaging
• Mental Health and Addictions
• Home and Community Care
• Medical Clinic
The District of Mackenzie is a recreational and industrial hub of the North. Located on the southern end of Williston Lake, the largest man-made reservoir, Mackenzie has a population of approximately 3,700 people. Mackenzie is a spirited and balanced community, rich in history with an eye for the future. The main industries are forestry and mining. Mackenzie has one elementary school, one secondary school, and a College of New Caledonia campus. Mackenzie is approximately 50 km away from Powder King Mountain Ski Resort. Qualifications
• Grade 12;
• Class V BC Driver’s License with access to vehicle for local area travel with appropriate insurance;
• Food Safe;
• Recent, related experience of three (3) months;
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
• Or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.

• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
• Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
• Ability to operate related equipment and technology.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in clients
