Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed permanent full time Administrative Assistant to support the Capital Planning & Support Services department.

The Administrative Assistant provides support to the Director of Logistics, Transportation and Distribution. This position also provides back up support for all the Directors in the Capital Planning and Support Services department under the direction of the Regional Director, Capital Planning and Support Services.

Starting salary will be approximately from $47,064 to $58,830 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 supplemented by successful completion of a certificate or diploma in office administration plus three (3) to five (5) years progressive administrative assistant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment.
• Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint. Knowledge of Microsoft Project an asset.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work with minimal direction.
• Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing priorities and demands.
• Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills.
• Professional telephone manner.
• Strong time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to exhibit tact, discretion and confidentiality
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with staff, vendors, and the general public in an effective and professional manner.
• Ability to type 60 w.p.m.
