REGISTERED NURSE (RN), COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH

Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the University Hospital of Northern BC.

Under the direction of the Community Outreach and Assertive Services Team (COAST) Leader, provides specialized mental health assessment and treatment services to adults who are suffering from serious and persistent psychiatric illnesses. The team provides immediate response to new referrals, assesses and triage for them and provides treatment for those with more serious disorders. The team exists as a specialized program component in Mental Health Services. Under the direction of the ACSS/Residential Coordinator, as a member of a multi-disciplinary mental health team, provide direct service to individuals who cannot function independently because they suffer the effects of major mental illnesses. Functions as a consultant/educator in the area of mental health nursing and contributes to the development of programs.

New Wage: As of April 1, 2024 the new wage is: $41.42 - $55.91/hour

Qualifications

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.

Skills and Abilities:
• A good knowledge of a wide range of case work and group skills.
• A minimum of three years experience; valid driver’s license.
• Computer skills
